Your memoir will unfurl over the entire twelve weeks, using just four basic tools and tasks. It‘s easy and in three hours you will complete 6 cards or 6 5"x7" mini paintings to group. We will use various techniques, including using stencils and a special color pencil that can contain the inks. We will pour, blend and lift, and use metallic alcohol inks for backgrounds. All supplies are included, including card and envelopes. Frames are not included, however mats will be providing for those who plan to frame rather than using cards.

This four-part series of beginner classes is designed for the novice with little to no drawing experience. We will start with an explanation of basic supplies and explore fundamental drawing techniques: drawing in line, shading methods, use of simple shapes, perspective, proportion, and composition. In this class you will acquire basic drawing skills that you can put to use in your creative projects. It will also prepare you for more advanced drawing instruction. Required Supplies: Pencils (1 each: 2H, 2B, 4B); kneaded eraser; pencil sharpener; drawing paper (9x12-inch pad, medium surface, 70lb weight); conte crayon (2B, black or sanguine, 2 sticks); and tortillons/blending stumps (small pack of 6). If you have questions about the supplies please contact the instructor (see below).
