Beginning Drawing with Jeanine Colini

This four-part series of beginner classes is designed for the novice with little to no drawing experience. We will start with an explanation of basic supplies and explore fundamental drawing techniques: drawing in line, shading methods, use of simple shapes, perspective, proportion, and composition. In this class you will acquire basic drawing skills that you can put to use in your creative projects. It will also prepare you for more advanced drawing instruction. Required Supplies: Pencils (1 each: 2H, 2B, 4B); kneaded eraser; pencil sharpener; drawing paper (9x12-inch pad, medium surface, 70lb weight); conte crayon (2B, black or sanguine, 2 sticks); and tortillons/blending stumps (small pack of 6). If you have questions about the supplies please contact the instructor (see below).

Making Acrylic Flow 3 Ways with Theresa Poalucci

Acrylic flows are messy, but extremely satisfying, so wear old clothes or bring an apron. Class will include mixing paints for flow consistency, applying the flow using three methods, a dirty pour, using a funnel and using a kitchen sink strainer. Students can choose their own colors. We will work with three 8" x 10" canvases. All supplies provided. Students will need to leave art for two days at Gallery for drying before picking up their paintings to take home.
