The subject for this year’s “One Image, No Limits” contest has been chosen and it’s Tucson Butterflies!

Karen Brungardt Steps down as President of the SaddleBrooke Fine Arts Guild

After four years of outstanding service as President of the SaddleBrooke Fine Arts Guild, Karen Brungardt has decided to step down. She is passing the gavel to Jenni Long, the new president.

Karen’s tenure has been one of great achievements. The club membership has doubled, a new website was added and Karen’s goal of an active outreach program is in place. She expanded the Art Sampler program which is a hands-on opportunity for aspiring artists to try different art mediums. Karen introduced Art and Wine as a fundraiser for many worthwhile organizations. Many residents have enjoyed an evening of making art while enjoying food, wine and socializing.

Jenni Long is looking forward to a new challenge as president. She has filled many roles in the Guild including treasurer and Art show chair.

President: Jenni Long

Vice-President: Deb Kress

Member Spotlight:

Katherine Evans

One of the newest members to SaddleBrooke Fine Arts Guild is Katherine Evans.  Evans and her husband found SaddleBrooke in the way that many do. They were traveling all over, looking for places to consider retiring in. They visited some friends that were already here, came over the ridge on SaddleBrooke Blvd., saw the mountains, and the rest was history! Along with the views, they loved the golf courses, the activities available, and they felt that the people in the community were very welcoming.

Recently retiring in June, and arriving to SaddleBrooke in September 2023, Katherine has already joined a couple of local clubs, one being the “Knit Wits”, a group which knits baby blankets for foster kids. She also discovered the Art Guild, and has enjoyed participating in the Art Salon discussions, and attending the general meetings, as well. She is enjoying retirement, after her long career, and turning over the reigns of her volunteer work with her heart project, serving animals in need.
