Norwegian Rosemaling taught by Connie Kotke
Explore this beautiful folk art that uses oil paints on wood items to represent scrolls, flowers and leaves. It was most popular in Norway in the mid 1800s and is now enjoyed by thousands of American painters. You’ll follow a step-by-step process to decorate this wooden box using traditional “C” and “S” strokes. Those who have some experience with rosemaling or tole painting may have time to decorate other parts of the box beyond the lid. A supply fee of $25 includes the pre-painted box, 3 brushes, a palette knife and pattern for you to take home. Instructor will provide oil paints, medium, and other supplies. We will break for lunch on your own. You may wish to bring a sack lunch to maximize your painting time.
