Drawing/Painting the Live Model Studio is for all levels, acrylic or oil.
These exciting two-morning classes is your entry into the studio world!
We will be setting up our view, our easels and the model first thing on Tuesday morning, and we'll then see a short demo. We'll then start our visual concept and begin painting (or drawing).
We will work on Tuesday from 9-12, and continue Wednesday morning, 9-12. These TWO MORNINGS make up ONE session, because you will definitely need two mornings with the model in order to complete your painting.
You can sign up for the October 6/7 session or the Oct 25/26 session - OR you can sign up for both!
This 2-session class will be taught by Pamela Whistance, a classically trained artist. You will learn proper studio easel set-up, how to use composition aides, initial shape and placement, an easy way to mix colors and all about the fabulous question, "what do I do next?"
This is a truly fun class because you'll have the opportunity to express yourself - all the while knowing your instructor is your safety net.
There will be a live model.
Beginners will be taught basic composition, basic construction of the figure, how to recognize color shapes, and how to draw only what they see, not what you "know". There will be a brief demo. Intermediate/Advanced will hear the same basic instruction being given to Beginners so they have a step by step reminder before they begin. All artists will set up around the model in correct studio style (will be shown an example) depending on which viewpoint they prefer. Looking forward to seeing you there!
There is a $10-15 dollar model fee that is paid at the door.
