About this event

Abstract Landscape Painting combines the beauty of natural scenery with the expressive freedom of abstraction. Students will explore how to interpret the landscape using color, texture, movement and composition rather than realistic detail. Through guided exercises we will learn to simplify shapes, build layered backgrounds and create mood and atmosphere in our paintings. This series of 3 classes encourages personal expression and exploration whiles helping students build confidence in design and creating a mood.

Materials list

Acrylic paint
Brushes, palette knives, silicone wedge, etc.
1 sheet of mixed media or water color paper 18”x24”
1 canvas 11x14 or larger
Blue artist tape
Scissors
Ruler
Pencil plus 1 colored pencil of your choice. (I use red for landscapes)

Optional:
Any mark-making tools
Markers
Charcoal
Graphite Powder
Collage materials
Gel Medium
And anything else you would like to bring

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellation Fee: $5.00

Full Refunds are given for the following reasons:
Emergency surgery, death of immediate family.
positive COVID/Exposure to COVID.

Full refund if the registrar is notified one week prior to beginning of class. No show = no refund.

No adjustments of class fees if unable to attend one or more of a class series.

The cancellation refund, less the cancellation fee, will be sent as a check after the date of the class. Members may choose instead to receive class credit, less the cancellation fee.
