About this event
Abandon traditional ways of painting! Get in touch with your intuitive self and leave the outside world behind. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned artist, this class will take you places you have never been, through prompts and exercises designed to reveal the inner you. A variety of tools and techniques will be explored with the emphasis on mark making, activating our canvases, and responding to our marks. The main goal of this three-session course is finding joy in the process, for when you love what you are doing, the result is amazing. The sky is the limit!
Materials List
Canvas
Two canvases or surfaces, 24” x 24” and larger work best. We will be going back and forth to allow for drying time.
Acrylic Paint
A basic acrylic set, with at least a red, blue, yellow, white and black. If you have more colors, bring them. I use both heavy body and fluid. There are some things you can’t do without the fluid.
Brushes
Bring whatever brushes you have. I enjoy using foam brushes in the early layers but that is up to you.
Other Tools
You will need paper towels, baby wipes, a large water spray bottle, a drop cloth (these are provided in the Topaz room), and plastic gloves if you don’t want to get your fingers dirty,(we will be painting with them).
Optional Items
If you are a mixed media artist you can incorporate any mixed media supplies you like.

Cancellation Fee: $5.00
Full Refunds are given for the following reasons:
Emergency surgery, death of immediate family.
positive COVID/Exposure to COVID.
Full refund if the registrar is notified one week prior to beginning of class. No show = no refund.
No adjustments of class fees if unable to attend one or more of a class series.
The cancellation refund, less the cancellation fee, will be sent as a check after the date of the class. Members may choose instead to receive class credit, less the cancellation fee.
