About this event

Abstract painting is a dynamic class that invites students to explore creativity beyond representational forms. Students will learn how to use color, shape, texture and line to convey emotion and meaning rather than depicting specific scenes. We will experiment with brushes, palette knives, color shapers, and explore different techniques. By the end, students will have a better understanding of abstract art and create their own expressive works of art.

Materials list for abstract painting

Acrylic paint, whatever colors you want
1 or 2 surfaces, the larger the better
Brushes, palette knives, old credit cards
Spray bottle

Optional items:
Pencils (graphite, inktense, or any of your choosing)
Any mark-making tools
Markers
Charcoal
Graphite powder
Collage materials
Gel Medium
Painters tape
Ruler or T-Square
Modeling paste
Anything else you would like to bring

What I provide:
Palette paper
Stencils
Some mark-making products
Surface for warm up exercises
Surfaces for homework

Cancellation Policy:

Cancellation Fee: $5.00

Full Refunds are given for the following reasons:
Emergency surgery, death of immediate family.
positive COVID/Exposure to COVID.

Full refund if the registrar is notified one week prior to beginning of class. No show = no refund.

No adjustments of class fees if unable to attend one or more of a class series.

The cancellation refund, less the cancellation fee, will be sent as a check after the date of the class. Members may choose instead to receive class credit, less the cancellation fee.
