About this event

Dec 2026 Art Journaling

It's back. If you missed the fun last season here's your chance to sign up and/or take it again. Creative Art Journaling is a unique way to combine the elements of art and writing into a visual diary. It’s specifically designed to boost creative juices and expression for beginners and seasoned pros alike. There are no wrong ways to approach it. Everything is correct. Thought provoking new prompts and techniques make this three-session course one not to miss. All water media, watercolor pencils, colored pencils, markers, collage papers, etc., are acceptable and encouraged.

Materials List
• A Blank Journal of your choice of size, preferably paper for mixed media, spiral or hard bound.
I personally prefer a spiral bound so I can rip out pages I don't like. Make sure the paper is tough enough to handle water media, markers and pencils.

• Water media: your choice of watercolor pencils, colored pencils, watercolors, pastels, markers, pens, water soluble paint, calligraphy pens—use what you have already or purchase what you’d like to use. This class is for experimenting, playing and trying new things.

• Newspapers; magazines, wrapping paper, tissue papers, found papers and objects. Any textures, colors, etc. that speak to you. Sharing is encouraged.

• Scrapbooking materials if you have them. Although this is not a scrapbooking class, some of the materials work well.

• Printed copies of old photos, letters, recipes, etc.,,,anything that you don’t mind cutting up.

• Mod Podge or Acrylic Medium and glue brush

• Scissors or Exacto knife for cutting papers and magazines

• Wax paper (optional)

• Your creative spirit

The instructor will have some extra goodies on hand for student use like magazines and paper swatches and some sticker books with old engravings, classic art, William Morris designs and lots of fun images.
