About this event
In this mixed media class, the surface becomes the star of the show. Working on a 14” x 11” professional-grade canvas, students will use a special texturing compound and a unique putty knife technique to create rich, dimensional patterns across the top and bottom of the composition. Once the texture is established, you’ll learn how to apply paint selectively—highlighting only the raised areas to reveal depth, contrast, and movement. This process brings the landscape to life in a bold and unexpected way. To complete the piece, we’ll add charming felt cactus elements (provided), creating a playful Southwest-inspired scene with a contemporary twist. This class is all about learning how to build and enhance texture—techniques that can be applied to countless mixed media projects. All materials and tools are provided. Come ready to experiment, learn, and leave with a unique piece you’ll be proud to display!

Cancellation Fee: $5.00
Full Refunds are given for the following reasons:
Emergency surgery, death of immediate family.
positive COVID/Exposure to COVID.
Full refund if the registrar is notified one week prior to beginning of class. No show = no refund.
No adjustments of class fees if unable to attend one or more of a class series.
The cancellation refund, less the cancellation fee, will be sent as a check after the date of the class. Members may choose instead to receive class credit, less the cancellation fee.
