Special Exhibitions for Fall of 2021

Tucson Desert Art Museum

The Desert Art Museum’s Fall Opening Day will be Saturday September 18, 2021. Beyond their permanent exhibits, this fall they have three exciting special exhibitions:

  • All the Single Ladies: Women Pioneers of the American West
  • Buffalo Soldiers: Art of David Laughlin
  • The Dirty Thirties: New Deal Photography of Dorothea Lange (1930s)

University of Arizona Museum of Art

The UofA Museum of Art is closed for remodeling until October 24th. From October 24th-March20, 2022 they will have the special exhibit: THE ART OF FOOD from the collections of Jordan D. Schnitzer. “The Art of Food showcases how some of the most prominent artists of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries have considered this universal subject.

Western Spirit: Scottsdale’s Museum of The West

Make a day of it and head up to Phoenix for some wonderful Southwest inspired art. This fall, Scottsdale’s Museum of The West is showcasing the iconic Native American photography of Edward Curtis.

Chihuly in the Desert

Tickets are on sale now for the winter special exhibit of Chihuly art glass in the Phoenix Desert Botanical Gardens. The juxtaposition of art and nature is always a treat and the Desert Botanical Garden knows how to do it with a flair. This exhibit runs from December 3, 2021-June19, 2022. Consider visiting at night, it should be stunning.
