Fran grew up in an artistic family out east, but only started painting seriously when she moved to SaddleBrooke and surrounded herself with SaddleBrooke Fine Arts Guild members and teachers. She is an eclectic artist and most of her paintings are scenic or figurative and a few are abstract. Her art is influenced by her love of the southwest history, oriental art, impressionist painters and textiles. She loves to paint with watercolors, but she also loves acrylics and collage because they are tactile and forgiving.

Fran has a B.S. degree in Home Economics and has taken numerous art classes, some at college level as well as quilting, jewelry and doll making classes. She served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Guatemala, C.A. from 1964 to 1966. She has two daughters and lots of grandchildren in Michigan and Ohio. Fran flies back to Michigan every spring with her husband, Ted and Siamese cat named Koko.
